7 Sisters and The Tank

Site Name: 7 Sisters and The Tank
Distance from Club: 4.5 km
Depth range: 3 -24m
Type: Photo / Wreck Dive
Level: Open Water Diver and above
Notes:
The Tank is an American M42 Duster Anti-aircraft vehicle. It was scuttled by JREDS (Jordan Royal Ecological Diving Society) in 1999. After being underwater for over a decade the tank is now covered in a healthy amount of marine life. Such as soft corals, flat worms, nudibranchs and moray eels.
As the tank sits at only 6m depth the safety stop is usually spent here and the rest of the dive around the reef.
This dive can be done as a deeper diver to 24m around the edge of the reef, starting with the right side of Oliver’s canyon or as a shallow dive turning to the north at the first few pinnacles and head direct to the fairy ring. Be warned that this dive can be approx. 60 mins. So make sure you have the right wet suit!
The seven sisters are seven large pinnacles situated around the reef. Each one is full of life and colour, excellent spot for photography.
The fairy ring, a little shallower than the seven sisters, at around 6m, still a beautiful spot for photos. A small circle of pinnacles where you can find shrimps, octopus, and sometimes a sting ray or a turtle.
The grassy areas between the reefs are full of interesting things too, such as pipefish, scorpion fish and moray eels.
