A turtle is a must here.site for scuba diving in Aqaba Jordan
A turtle is a must there, if you don't see a turtle on this dive, you will definitely see the cables! These are the cables from Egypt to Jordan. There are three reefs with a valley between each, you have to hover to reach from one reef to another! The dive site located 110m to the north of the ship wreck buoy, it is between the Black rock and the ship wreck.

Cedar Pride (Ship Wreck)

This site is (excuse the pun) the FlagShip of diving in Aqaba and is
highly recommended. site for scuba diving in Aqaba Jordan

Snorkelling is possible also! The wreck of Lebanese freighter (760 tons, length 78m and 20m wide) was purposely sunk in 1985 to provide an artificial reef. The wreck is marked by a surface marker buoy less than 150m offshore. it lies on the port side, bridging two reefs, so you can swim underneath it at about 25m. Near the stern is a life boat in 20.5m depth. The ship is in good condition, the holds are open and you can swim inside, so a good wreck even for novice or inexperienced divers. Corals: very good soft corals growth, magnificent garden of sea fans covering the wreck inside and out side. Fish life: Lion fish and angel fish, large snappers, schools of double bar bream, barracuda, and the smaller reef species such as damsels are well represented.

Japanese Garden

Rated as Excellent for snorkelling and diving, it can be shallow and deep. site for scuba diving in Aqaba Jordan
At the beginning it contain coral patches on which you might find a frog fish carefully camouflaged, but visible if you look closely. When you go more south you will find more corals and further down, there is a drop off that leads to below 40m where a huge spotted eagle ray can be occasionally found in about 30 metres, so we assume it's living there. Make sure to leave at least a metre between you and the bottom, a sting ray might be hiding under the sand between the coral patches. Loads of cornet fish can be found there specially one of the pinnacles.

Ship's Place

A very interesting place, but it's filled with fishing lines. site for scuba diving in Aqaba Jordan
Its out of the marine park borders that means anyone can do fishing-unfortunately. The lines have been left there and coral has grown on them which is interesting, it also has large coral patches with sandy areas in between, an eagle ray, turtle and octopi (octopuses to you!) can be found there amongst other species, so we never know what to expect.

See photos

Ashraf's Grotto

A very excellent dive site not frequently dived due to the difficult entry over the fringing reef but well worth the struggle. site for scuba diving in Aqaba Jordan
For this reason we visit this site with only one or two divers. Once your dive begins, you enter a sandy area with coral patches directly after the fringing reef which goes down to a nice drop off where you will find some small caves! Its a magnificent to witness the deep from 30m which extends down to more than 70m when the visibility is good. Turtles are spotted there with some eagle ray, Spanish dancers, octopi and sting rays, yet .. you don't know what to expect.
