TEC 45

The diver now is introduced to longer decompression schedules in either backmount or sidemount configuration and using one additional deco cylinder. The diver is qualified to complete accelerated decompression dives using any mix of EANx or oxygen. Depth is limited to 45 mts / 145 feet.

If you’re interested in technical diving, but haven’t met yet the full prerequisites for the PADI Tec Deep Diver course (or wish to further your depth limitations beyond Tec 40), then you can consider continuing on to Tec 45. If you’re not already a technical diver, then we can combine the Tec 40/45 courses in only 6 days. These 2 programs are a subcourse of the full PADI Tec Deep Diver course, so your PADI Tec 40 course training credits towards this and the full PADI Tec Deep Diver course.

In addition to the motor skills performed on the Tec 40 course you’ll also learn to make gas switch, extended no-decompression dives using air and enriched air to 45 meters/145 feet;

• Staging and retrieving decompression tanks
• Out of air gas sharing whilst swimming exercise

You’ll also be trained in the use of technical diving equipment and procedures, the motor skills needed for technical diving, understand and acknowledge the hazards and risks involved in technical diving, prepare for & respond to reasonably foreseeable technical diving emergencies that may occur and provide the foundational skills and knowledge necessary for continuing onto Tec 50 and completing the entire Tec Deep Diver course.

If you already hold the PADI Tec 40 certification (or equivalent), the course takes 3 days of diving – or we can offer the PADI Tec 40/45 combined courses in 6 days.

This course builds on the training, dive planning and technical motor skills learned in the Tec 40 course and allows the diver to make gas switch decompression dives to 145ft/45 meters using air and enriched air (up to 100% oxygen) for conservatism or to accelerate decompression, with no time restrictions on the amount of decompression time you can build up.
